FM40 STYLE | M&S CASHMERE

C A S H M E R E

There’s only one way to celebrate the arrival of autumn in my book and that’s with copious amounts of cashmere

As soon as the summer evenings draw in, my thoughts already begin to turn to sweater weather and more specifically, cashmere sweaters. There’s nothing quite like pulling on a soft cosy jumper when the temperature starts to drop and when Marks & Spencer recently asked if I would like to pick something from their A/W collection .... cashmere it was.

Yes, the pretty dotted tulle dress, the fashion editors favourite the star and moon dress and the cute velvet Mary Janes did totally appeal, but I put my sensible head on and decided to pick something I would wear endlessly..... and that is cashmere sweaters.

The high street now offer good quality cashmere and Marks & Spencer has to be one of the leaders in this field, seductively soft and affordable at £75

My first pick was this grey V-neck, a grey V-neck is such versatile piece of knitwear to own. Flattering to most skin tones, expensive looking, wear it on its own or layered over shirt or a pretty lace camisole.

My top tip with high street cashmere is too size up and I sized up to a 14 in this jumper, perfect for a slightly more relaxed look.

My second pick was a red crew neck cashmere jumper. The colour red is a huge trend this A/W and a red jumper was top on my wish list. Red is the perfect colour to add to a monochrome wardrobe. I decided to choose a crew neck in the red colour way as my plan is to wear it layered under little jackets or just on its on own as a show stopper.

Sometimes when you require something special to wear in autumn/winter it is so chic to wear a cashmere jumper and a statement skirt, rather than a full on evening dress. Being a plain Jane my statement skirt would be something like my ancient lace pencil, this jumper would look fabulous for Christmas drinks with the very Givenchy like peplum skirt from M&S (available here) ..... 👌Also, if you are not a fan of cashmere or wanted a red jumper under £40 then this one is fabulous!

Find a formula that works and stick with it is my motto and luxurious cashmere is one of those formulas for me!
